Lt. Gen. Michael S. Groen, USMC (Ret.) serves as a Defense Advisory Board Member at Skylark Labs. A retired three-star general in the United States Marine Corps, Groen served as the Director of the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), the Department of Defense's focal point for AI transformation. In this role, he led the Pentagon's efforts to accelerate AI adoption across all branches of the U.S. military, overseeing strategy, policy, and the deployment of AI capabilities at scale.

Throughout his distinguished 36-year military career, General Groen held key leadership positions in intelligence, operations, and strategic planning. He served as the Director of Intelligence (J2) for the Joint Staff, providing intelligence assessments directly to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of Defense, and the President. His extensive experience spans combat deployments, intelligence operations, and technology modernization across the defense enterprise.
