Tanmay R. Pancholi is a Machine Learning Engineer (MLE-2) at Skylark Labs, where he develops deep learning-based visual classifiers for defense applications and bridges physical AI systems with computer vision capabilities.
Pancholi holds an M.Eng in Robotics from the University of Maryland, College Park and a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from NIT Agartala. As a Graduate Research Scholar at UMD, he leads ML and Dataset Management for Team RoboScout UMD on the DARPA Triage Challenge under Dr. Derek Paley, Director of the Maryland Robotics Center.
His technical expertise spans deep learning classifiers (ResNet, EfficientNet, Vision Transformers), generative AI including custom Stable Diffusion pipelines for synthetic training data, computer vision for injury pattern inference, and ML dataset curation and augmentation strategies—bringing DARPA-level ML research to Skylark Labs' defense AI mission.
